So I'm wondering who's playing a game here and why? Is it Bob Johnson of NY or the site Admin? Or out of the few people who have posted here do we have two Bob Johnson's from NY? HMMMM...... Does anyone know of any adverse effects it might have on, over-focusing on the negative in a relationship, increasing hostility, causing "bi-polar" type symptoms (rapid mood swings) or anything like that? Posted January 9th, 2008 by Robert Johnson Hello, I'm starting to lose home in my marriage. I love my wife very much and we have been married for a little over a year. She is diagnosed with ADHD and is confident in talking about it and feels she is in total control of its symptoms. She is taking Adderall and has been for long before we were married. Everything we do ends in conflict, from household chores to planning a vacation. I know that communcation is key and I know that i'm not perfect but, we can be talking about anything, and if I use one wrong word to describe something, the entire conversation is ignored and the one word is focused on, whether it be to accuse me of changing facts, accusing her of something, taking a stab or just flat out missing the point. I know she has "hyper focus" type tendencies ... can this be associated with her condition? What can I do to make this work better? There is so much anger and unhappiness ... I have stopped talking since everything I say gets disected and used against me in some way ... I don't think she is this way on purpose ... Any thoughts would be appreciated. Bob, NY I came accross this site and thought, WOW and look who its associated with. Bob, please enlighten me if you don't mind, and I was wondering why I was having such a hard time following these posts when I was replying. If Bob won't clear it up- I hope these aren't "ice breaker" posts to get conversations started... AKA- BS. I've always tried to address this topic by being sincere and as open as I can, becasue some of the personal accounts and stories that I've seen and read over the past several years have really come close to home for me and I've always hoped my open attitude may offer the same to someone else. If Bob isn't Bob, thats really a shame. I don't mind even allowing you use this for a book and posted here for the world to see, but usually its best out on an open and level playing field. Or maybe its just an ADD moment and I'm confused.
