It was hard for me to attach the dryer vent when I moved. It was an odd set up in the laundry room. Many curse words were said.
I was tired from moving almost everything on my own. However, I could have hired more help. Overall, my ex husband literally provided heavy lifting and labor support, not much else. On the balance, I'd rather spend money and pay for services than worry about undisclosed five figure debt - he basically provided help I can hire out for 10-20 an hour, depending on the task, versus the fact that he was debt-wise very, very, very expensive labor.
I'm pretty handy so I'm not finding too much that I miss. I have two large mirrors to hang right now but I'll have to wait until I have help, but not a big deal.
I got the tree up without any trouble, but lifting it back up into the attic for out of season storage is going to be a big pain. I might buy a smaller tree instead and give this one away.
My ex really didn't do much for me either around or outside of the house. Before the divorce, he was making enough money to hire out a lawn service. He would wait until things broke down and then be forced to fix them. He did not believe in preventative maintenance. After the divorce, my daughter told me that he hired a cleaning lady, to make things easier for him. When we were married, he could not justify the hiring of a cleaning person, just to lighten my load.
In my own home, I figure out how to do things myself, or I don't do them. i'm not making enough money at this point to hire anything out.
My BF has done a lot for me, yard work and fixing the leak under the kitchen sink to name a few...
