SINGLE Moms with ADHD

When people who have kids with ADD tell me I just have to learn to set consistent boundaries with my teenage daughter I have to laugh and remind them I am the one with ADD.  It is unrealistic for me to expect myself to be consistent especially when it comes to disciplining another person - I have enough trouble with self-discipline.  On top of that I am a single Mom - and am not so great at all the domestic chores - and planning ahead about meals?????  Great when that is my focus for 3 days (and other things fall to the wayside).  Too often I turn to my daughter who fortunately for her has better executive functioning than I do, and ask her to decide what  we will do next etc.

Anyone else relate to this?

PS This would relate to single Dads too, but there is no forum topic that the message would fit in....
