Hi there, I haven't posted in a while, but I have something I am struggling with on how best to approach my ADHD husband. After years of fighting over impulse purchases, my husband opened a credit card with separate checking account. It is funded with a percentage of any bonus checks he receives from work. It is not the ideal solution for me, but he really likes it and I have to say that we haven't fought since it has been in place for a year. In the past, we fought a lot over his purchases because I thought many of them were unnecessary.

Nope--  I'm the spouse with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder. 

We've been together since 98, married since 01.  Fourteen years next month.

I just don't know anymore. In some ways I wish he did have ADHD as that would explain the behavior. He told me he was diagnosed with this when he was a kid, but then he also thinks that the government did secret experiments on him when he was in elementary school as well.

Seeking thoughts and opinions relating to cause and effect of potential ADD? or just two people with personality conflict?

Hi guys, I found this site after Googling for ADD/ADHD info. I could really use someone to talk to about this. I'd be glad of some input from other people in similar situations or from anyone who could just offer their thoughts. I feel as if I'm kinda just drowning right now. Sorry it's so long. I'm in a bad place.

My husband has been diagnosed with ADHD and bipolar disorder.  Two weeks ago he started an intensive outpatient rehab for benzo addiction.  I was the one who told him he needed to go talk to someone.  He kept telling me he didn't  have a problem.  At first he told me he had only been taking them for a two years (I KNEW that wasn't true because he's been taking them for as long as we've been together).  Now I found out it's more like ten years.  He told me he had only taken what his Dr.

I'm new to this forum and so glad to have found it.  My boyfriend of 3 years has ADHD and knows it, however, I'm not sure it was ever medically diagnosed and I know he's never received treatment for it.  He retired from a successful business last April and is progressively getting worse with his symptoms and behaviors.  I've realized that before he retired he had several employees to take care of many of the things he's having such a hard time with now, and he had a schedule which helped, even though he's chronically late to everything.

My household is an ADHD nightmare.  I recognize I've had it all my life, but with the help of a cup of coffee manage to keep it together plus homeschool our 5 kids and everything else - and I do mean EVERYTHING.  It's like I'm the only adult in our house.  He does work 12 hours a day, but when he comes home he STARES at his phone and can't seem to stop.  He watches video after video on youtube about stupid stuff like elderly people falling down escalators.  He can be so irritable and hateful to me and the kids.
